Jan.2026
!January has had close to a handful of snow days now!! Yesterday being the largest, all so fluffy and peaceful looking. The ice over portion though, like most all people, I hate other than it being great for sledding. Not super snowy winter nc gov is also not the best at keeping things cleared up. No shade, but that has been my anger of choice this last week which was great fuel for shoveling. So it all works out I guess. Also picked up chess with Will as of last weekend haha and it’s my new hyper fixation.
!I read Train Dreams and A Quiet Mind to Suffer With + watched Drop Dead Gorgeous, Memento, Train Dreams, and There Will Be Blood.
!I got to visit my newly engaged friend (we indulged in lots of good Portland food BIG BURRITOS and drinks and coffees and met the fiancé) and attended Will’s brother’s wedding where I met the whole family. :) <3

!Been thinking a lot about clothes and their make up and now reading labels kinda throws me for a loop bc what do you mean my target cardigan is made of 100% basically plastic?! What’s cool is there is a ton of affordable on depop and otherwise / very on sale stuff out there that is made up of natural fibers if you peek at the material info vigilantly. I’ve also taken to hang drying everything for longevity sake. I feel like this makes me lean crunchy, I just want my favs to last lol. Need to make a consignment clothes drop off for cash but who else leaves that type of stuff in their car for eternity??
!We made an earl grey syrup at work and it is divine, especially in a matcha. In Seattle, Will and I had a smoked london fog at Ghost Note (delicious). And I had the maybe most memorable matcha (housemate fig syrup) in my life at a coffee shop called Haven (lol) in Portland. A namesake sibling (one of many but still super neat). Also a ton of good coffee, but teas were stand outs in January.
!Been journaling consistently for a month. It’s been such a sweet practice and I have also consistently been 1-3 days ish behind but! it’s a growing rhythm. Also feel mostly caught up on what I call photo albuming! And I finally after years of having a pile of thrifted frames, have hung them with pictures. :’)
!I’ve been praying about and thinking on good rhythms because burnout should not be a norm. But like most things it’s a slow and steady walk and not lashing in extremes as I know I can be prone to.
!And I finally got film developed from solo Charleston trip. The ilford sprite point and shoot is so good for just snapping away and what a joy to get the file share in my email with new pics.

Cheers to February, this is the vibe rn.

i love those film photos!
